Good evening all, just a quick question, I was just exploring around in Cantha, I had some time to kill and did not feel like spending the hours it takes to do a mission lol and stumbled on Wing 3 ax. I remember seeing him when I was searching for skills on another page of this forum and figured I might as well attack him since I happen to have a cignet of capture on me. When he died I captured his triple chop skill, that in itself made the trip worth it

, but in reading some of the items he is supposed to drop (according to guildapedia i think) listed an item called "Wing ax"...he did not, however, drop this item. Apart from my disappointment, I am curious, is it because I was supposed to find him on a mission, was it a glitch, or just a random drop someone got and I happened to miss? And if it was a random drop...can I log in again and go to the same place and find him again.....or is he gone forever?

It's a random drop and he does respawn.

...... you do realize named weapons don't drop every time the boss dies, yes? I've played for 2 years and only gotten one unique weapon drop

This is painfully true. I got a lucky axe drop from Wing on my second try, then a friend wanted one as well... This was sometime not too long after the release of factions.

He quit due to GW Burnout sometime after Nightfall, and never got the Wing's Blade drop. This was months of occasionally dropping by there every so often for a couple of tries. I think the end count had to have been more than 50, up to about 100.

It's theorised that monsters that are easier to get to have their green drop rates lower than others. Can't say anything about the validity of that claim in general, but that Wing's a pain to get it from, I can attest to.

You also have a better chance of getting the drop if you're solo (or atleast accompanied with as few party member as possible)

The best thing to do is find a solo build for the particular green you want, and if you aren't getting it, wait for an event that will give you triple chance on green drops, assuming they have more in the future.

I had builds set up for each one and one weekend they had this I got every single green I was after, which was over 10 of them.
